1 c. Butter

3⁄4 c. Sugar

1 Eggs

1 t. Vanilla

1 t. Baking Powder

2 1⁄2 c. Flour
Directions
Cream butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla together until fluffy. Add baking powder and flour. Mix well. Divide dough in half. Color half dough red. Refrigerate.
To make candy canes, shape 1 t. of each color into a 4 inch rope. Lightly press together 1 red and 1 white rope, then twist. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and shape like a candy cane. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.
