1/8 t. Cream of Tartar
1⁄4 t. Peppermint or other flavoring

Put sugar, water, Karo syrup, and cream of tarter in a kettle and cover with a lid. After is starts boiling, boil 1 minute, NO LONGER! NO LESS! Pour in mixing bowl and beat. Add flavoring and coloring. Put bowl over boiling water to soften until it drops from a spoon onto cookie sheet or waxed paper. Cover with another layer of waxed paper.
